According to a new source, the next generation iPhone and iPad mini will not be announced at the same event. John Gruber of Daring Fireball is claiming that Apple will announce the next generation iPhone and iPad Mini in two separate events.
You should note that John Gruber has a terrific track record of predicting Apple related news. He predicts that iPad mini may be announced in October. Recently iResQ has managed to get their hands on iPhone 5 and iPad mini headphone jack, dock connector and flex cable. They have also posted some pictures of those parts, which has confirmed that Apple will use 8-pin dock connector in both iPad mini and the next generation iPhone. The picture has also confirmed that Apple will change the position of headphone jack in the next generation iPhone and iPad mini. According to various sources, Apple will use IGZO display in iPad mini that will make it thinner than the current generation iPad. iPad mini is also expected to feature 7.85-inch screen.
The next generation iPhone is expected to come with smaller dock connector, larger screen, relocated headphone jack and FaceTime camera. We have already seen some pictures of iPhone 5 leaked parts, which has confirmed that the FaceTime camera will be available above the earpiece and the headphone jack will be available at the bottom of iPhone 5. Recently a Verizon employee had claimed that the next generation iPhone will be launched on September 21st. Still no word from Apple regarding the launch date of next generation iPhone and iPad mini.
