Well, according to some recent rumors, Apple is now gearing up to release a new, cheaper iPad later this year. Actually, according to the report of DigiTimes, the Cupertino company has made deals with component manufacturers from Taiwan, such as, Novatek Microelectronics, Capella Microsystems, Richtek Technology and Integrated Memory Logic to supply the company with materials for the newest generation of iPad. Let’s have more information on this new report from below.
According to the report of DigiTimes;
Apple is now more willing to adopt IC solutions from Taiwan-based IC design houses as it is adjusting the cost structure for iPad tablets in order to compete with an array of tablet PCs to be launched by rivals in the second half of 2011, commented the sources.
However, this new report contradicts the earlier reports that Apple was actually looking to release a Pro, Retina Display-equipped version of the iPad, targeted at professionals who require a higher resolution in their tablets.
