iOS 5

System Pre-Requisites :

  • iPhone 4
  • iOS 5 beta 2 .IPSW, which you can get from Apple’s Developer Site, as long as you have an Apple Developer account.
  • The recent version of Sn0wbreeze, which you can get from here.
  • A Gevey Ultra SIM card, which you can get from ApplenBerry.

How To Unlock iOS 5 Beta 2 On iPhone 4 With Gevey SIM

Step – 1 : First of all, downgrade your iPhone 4 from iOS 5 beta 2 to iOS 4.3.3.

NOTE : Actually, this is because, Apple is still signing iOS 4.3.3 firmware, just restoring from iTunes to 4.3.3 will perform the job done. Also, this will downgrade your baseband from 4.11.06 to 4.10.01 (needed for Gevey SIM to work).

Step – 2 : Now, create custom iOS 5 beta 2 firmware without the upgraded baseband using Sn0wbreeze (Also, you can refer the tutorial here). After that, proceed to loading the custom .IPSW you have just created onto your phone.

Step – 3 : Remember, do not activate your iPhone with Apple. Rather, just refer our guidelines here on how to install iOS 5 beta 2 without the developer connection. At this point, do not insert your Gevey SIM yet.

Step – 4 : Now, power off your phone, if you haven’t already. After that, insert your Gevey SIM, along with your normal SIM card. Remember one thing in mind, you probably have to slightly cut your SIM card in order for it to fit the iPhone’s micro-SIM slot. Just be sure that the Gevey SIM is placed underneath your SIM card.

Step – 5 : After inserting both the SIM cards, you are just ready to power your phone back on. After it’s booting up, just wait for one signal bar to appear. Once appeared, call 112. After 2 seconds, hang up.

Step – 6 : Finally, access the phone’s settings and turn the AirPlane mode on. Just leave it in for 45 seconds, and ignore all the “No SIM card Installed” errors that might pop up. After completing your wait for 45 seconds, it should be safe to turn AirPlane mode back off.

That’s it! Now, your iPhone 4 is unlocked on iOS 5 beta 2 using Gevey SIM.

NOTE : Many users might have questions in their mind about the legality of calling 112 unless there’s an actual emergency. Well, calling the number for two seconds shouldn’t cause any harm to the service. Hence, just be sure your 112 call takes no longer than 2 seconds.
